On January 13, 2006, the Jizo Peace Center donated a stuatue of Jizo to Keiro Retirement Home, Los Angeles, CA. This occurred during the home’s lovely New Year’s celebration, special holiday meal, and performance by the Awaya Kai Koto Ensemble led by Sensai Yoko Awaya. Many of the Keiro residents appeared quite familiar with Jizo and joked by calling Ruth “O Jizo San” when it came time to introduce the Awaya Kai performers.
